sakura NEW SAKURA stockist! Gallery 57 in Newport

With many thanks to Gallery 57 owner Nicole Garnon, a selection of SAKURA art giclee prints, A6 & A5 unlined notebooks, from original designs by Allison Mackenzie, are now available for sale here in Newport.

Open Tuesday to Saturday (9am-5pm) Gallery 57 can be found at Unit 9 Chartist Tower, Upper Dock Street, Newport, NP20 1DX (between the Triple Two coffee shop and the entrance to the Mercure Hotel).

In addition, SAKURA and Gallery 57 will be collaborating to provide a series of simple printmaking workshops and ongoing drop in sessions.

To kick these off we will begin with Mini Taster Sessions on Thursday 9th & Friday 10th November 2023.

Using pre-cut stencils or prepared lino these simple, print-only tasters will give you the opportunity to enjoy printing designs while finding out how to re-use and re-purpose useful items easily found at home.

Alternating between either lino or stencil, each session will last approximately 45 minutes, and will include a brief demonstration followed by the opportunity to print your items. The cost will be £12 per session/person which includes admission to one workshop, one paper pack & use of inks & paint.

sakura Simple Printmaking - Day Workshops in November

Following the taster sessions, Gallery 57 will be hosting two further Simple Printmaking Workshops with Sakura in November.

sakura sakura Stencil Printmaking Workshop (Wednesday 22nd November 2023) Create your own design and learn to cut and print your stencils.

This five hour stencil workshop will last from 10am to 3pm, and will include a demonstration followed by the opportunity to design, cut and print your stencils. The cost will be £55 which includes blank (or pre-printed) stencils, paper pack, use of cutting tools, inks and paints.

sakura sakura Lino Printmaking Workshop (Thursday 30th November 2023)
Create your own design and learn to cut and print your lino block.

This five hour lino workshop will last from 10am to 3pm, and will include a demonstration followed by the opportunity to design, cut and print your lino block. The cost will be £60 which includes, one lino block, paper pack and single mount, use of lino cutting tools and inks.
